Using Leftovers

Using Leftovers
Obviously my grandson is now 10 months old, so right now alot of this will be geared for the 9 - 12 month age group
I should also mention that we only use Artisian Well water from the flowing well outside of my town so that reduces excess chemicals into Tylor's system (and ours).
I just made left over beef pot pie for Tylor ~ Take the "fluted" crust around the pie off put rest of pot pie in food processor and blend until the consistency for your baby, you may need to add some liquid to thin it down and be more pliable and edible for baby ~ be sure to check it after processing. I found a really huge chunk of meat that my mini processor didn't even touch, so I just took it out
Leftover veggies are also good to use ~ just put the leftover cooked veggies in a mini processor (can use a big one but small works best for me) and process to consistnecy. You will have to add some of the leftover liquid to the veggies to get it to an easily edible consistency. I use the liquid from the veggies so that it contains more of the nutrients and flavor.
You can also process Canned Spagetti O's, home made or canned Spagetti, Dinty Moore Stews, and the list goes on.
Home made baby foods are not only cheaper but you can control what goes into your baby's system.
DO REMEMBER TO INTRODUCE NEW FOODS ONE AT A TIME, IN CASE OF ALLERGIES.
Do not start whole milk products, fish, or nuts until at least 18 -24 months. Other's will say it is OK but I am not comfortable with the idea. I would like the child to at least be able to communicate if there is a problem before the visible signs start showing. Again, this is my personal preference, not medical or expert advice.

Re: Using Leftovers
Today I used Pasta with Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce and left over creamed corned and put it in the food processor ~ you may need to add a little liquied to thin it out
The other day I purreed up the carrots, potatoes, and onion that was cooked with the ham ~ NOT GOOD IDEA ~ Tylor vomitted ~ may have been too much ham fat cooked into them.
