I really don't follow many recipes but it is always nice to try something different. I give my grandson (and all of my kids when they were little and my grand daughter) the same stuff I eat.

Only make enough food for 3 days or you can freeze up to 3 months.  I avoid high acid foods and fish until the kids are at least 18-24 months because of potential allergies and acidic food also can cause serious diaper rash.

For breakfast I typcally use oatmeal 1/2  cup oat meal to 1 cup+ a little more water.  This will make 3 - 4oz servings ~I just heat it up in microwave and serve.  Sometimes I will mash 1/2 banana in each serving and let Tylor eat the other 1/2 banana.  Farina and Plain Cream of Wheat are also ok.  Brown Rice Cereal is simple to make as well.  Just make the brown rice, add some water and process it to the consistency that fits your child's age.

To puree foods you can use a food processor or blender ~1 box of mac and cheese will make about 6 - 4oz servings ~ canned spagettio's makes about 3 - 4 oz servings.  You can add hot dogs, ground beef, or ground pork to the mixture for a little variety.

You can use any canned veggies to puree (or cooked fresh, frozen  or even leftovers) ~if using canned, make sure you rinse them first.  be sure to add a little water to make it easier to blend and easier for baby to eat.

Butternut squash and apple sauce blended together makes another nice flavor for baby.

Canned fruit can be puree'd as well.  drain the juice from the can and put fruit in blender, add some of the liquid and blend ~ add more liquid as needed.  You will get about 3 - 4oz portions from a single can of fruit.  I do not freeze this because some fruits lose flavor or texture once frozen,

Don't be afraid to try portions of whatever you had for a meal.  I would suggest though that you start with basic single foods and slowly add other things just in case your child does develop an allergy.  I do avoid whole muscle meats in the beginning as well.

Stay away from alot of dairy products until after they are off formula ~ in a pinch I have used 1% milk because it is mostly water.  I don't remember how to make Rice Milk, but that could be another option for a very short period of time.  DO NOT USE WHOLE MILK OR 2% MILK IN A PINCH.  It will really mess with a baby's stomach and possible allergies.

I am no expert however, if you are unsure about something ask your doctor or someone from "the old school" era.
