They are quite crafty hunters and have been domesticated for over 2,000 years for just that purpose. Used to “ferret” out and kill mostly vermin that would otherwise grow out of control, ferrets were a useful tool. Their razor sharp teeth are definitely those of a carnivore.

Welcome to the Ferret Cam! Here you can view live, real-time video feeds of North America’s most endangered (and cutest) mammal, the black-footed ferret. The star of our webcam is Two-bit, an ambassador ferret at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado. Black-footed ferrets are primarily nocturnal, so you’ll see Two-bit sleeping a lot during the day in her underground enclosure. However, ferrets are highly curious and playful when they are active, so don’t forget to tune in at night when you have the best chance of seeing Two-bit acting silly above ground!
