I do Can the old ways,
so I do not always follow the "acceptable guidelines"
I do can zucchini and other squash with a pressure canner,
by itself with 1 TBS salt for quarts and 1 teaspoon for pints ~ process 20 minutes
I cube the squash up and cover with water before adding the salt
***Do this at your own risk. I have never had a problem but
not responsible for any mistakes that may occur.
Be sure that the seals are solid after they cool down.
