Labor Day Peanut Butter Burgers
INGREDIENTS
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
1 (12-ounce) package maple-flavored bacon
4 burger buns, split and toasted
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Shape the ground beef into 4 patties. Season generously with salt and pepper on each side. Make an indentation in the center of the patties using your thumb.
- Grill for 4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is achieved. Use a meat thermometer to test for doneness – cooked beef has a temperature of at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave on high for 30 seconds or until runny.
- Top the bottom buns with 2 slices of cheese and a burger patty. Spread the peanut butter generously on patties. Top with 2 to 4 slices of bacon and cover with the top buns.
