One of the widely celebrated festivities of Punjab, Hola Mohalla, was started by the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. The festival commemorates the bravery of Guru Gobind and his troop.

Guru Gobind had fought hard against the strong force of Aurangzeb and Rajput leaders to save his holy land. To recall the old glory story a mock fight is organized every year along with plenty of other ceremonies. An early morning prayer marks the onset of the festival which continues for three long days. The impressive festivity continues with different brave acts, such as, tent pegging, mock fight with real weapons, bareback horse riding, standing on the back of the two horses and other war sports. The colorful and eventful procession leaves from Takhat Keshgarh Sahib and travels around the city circumambulating the divine Gurdwara. Tourists and pilgrims don’t miss on the opportunity to savor the taste of local delicacies. The cultural and traditional touches are prominent on each and every part of the renowned festival. Flock to the premise of the festival to spend a quality time during the month of March.
