When you are cooking are you a clean up as you go person or do you wait and clean up when you are done?

I try to clean up as I go. J is the opposite and leaves me with a huge mess.

I try to clean as I go, but sometimes, I give up towards the end and have extra dishes to wash for later.  As for food stuff, I clean as I go because I can't stand a mess.
