Pumpkin Bars Empty Pumpkin Bars

Ingredients


BARS


cups all-purpose flour

cups sugar

teaspoons baking powder

teaspoon baking soda

teaspoon cinnamon

teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cloves

cup oil

can (15 oz) pumpkin

eggs

1/2 cup chopped nuts

1/2 cup raisins


FROSTING

cups powdered sugar

1/3 cup margarine or butter, softened

oz (from 8-oz package) cream cheese

tablespoon milk

teaspoon vanilla



Steps

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 15x10x1-inch baking pan. In large bowl, combine all bar ingredients except nuts and raisins; beat at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Stir in nuts and raisins. Pour into greased pan.

Bake at 350°F. for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 45 minutes or until completely cooled.

In small bowl, combine all frosting ingredients; beat until smooth. Spread over cooled bars. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.

    To quickly soften cream cheese, remove from wrapper, and place on microwaveable plate; microwave uncovered on High about 5 to 10 seconds or until soft.
  • Tip 2
    The best way to measure flour is to stir it before spooning it into your measuring cup. Fill until heaped then sweep off the excess flour with the flat edge of a butter knife.
  • Tip 3
    Remember to scrape down the sides of your bowl while mixing to ensure all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
